Former Centrica CMO, Margaret Jobling has been appointed CMO at NatWest in an apparent turnaround for the bank which had previously scrapped the role.
NatWest had previously stated that it would not be hiring a direct replacement for David Wheldon who stepped down from the CMO role in February.
Jobling will join in a board-level role and report directly to CEO, Alison Rose.
The announcement comes shortly after the Royal Bank of Scotland Group completed its rebrand to NatWest Group, on 22nd July 2020.
CEO, Alison Rose said, “as we move forward as NatWest Group, it’s so important for us to talk to our customers about the help we can offer them and how we do business. That’s what will define us and set us apart as we champion the potential of the people, families and businesses we serve.
“Margaret’s role in this will be vital, leading an integrated marketing strategy across our businesses, and her expertise and experience is an important addition to my senior leadership team.”
Speaking on her move, Jobling spoke of her excitement at “joining NatWest Group at such an exciting time for the business, as it embarks on a new strategy with purpose at its heart.
“This is a time when customers will need the support of their bank more than ever. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work with colleagues from right across the bank to understand how we can best help our customers and champion their potential.”
